and that happened on this location on the 8800 block of main street in west oakland. that happened around 1 this morning. there around 230 there is a fatal stabbing of the 550 blocks of walnut street. police are still investigating right now and will traiwill tran is jg us live on the scene. >> the police have been here for about five hours now talking to witnesses and collecting evidence. they're now in the process of removing the 2 million men who were killed here. i spoke with someone who looked out the window and saw at least two rounds fired at the man. before they left they fired more shots at the bodies. at this point we do not have the names of the victims or the motive at this point. i got here shortly before 5:00 in the morning and a handful of police of ulcers were here and now we're seeing more and more officers on the scene. we're on the verge of breaking this case. there's still cameras in the area while it is fresh in seeing that they did talk to any more witnesses. unfortunately that raises the homicide number to 130. last year it was 110. >> on a separate note there is a bu

. there are two different scenes. one in oakland. one in west oakland and one in east oakland. ktvu alex savidge is live on walnut street. good morning, alex. >> reporter: good morning. the sergeant here on scene told me in this case a woman was found stabbed to death early this morning. officers are still out here on scene. you can see a couple patrol cars parked out here on this street. the stabbing happened inside this apartment building in a second floor unit. we'll show you video we shot a short time ago. this is all taking place in the 5800 block of walnut. neighbors called 911 just about two hours ago. around 2:30 this morning. when officers aryed here on scene they went inside this unit and found this woman with multiple stab wounds and she died here on scene. a sergeant told me a short time ago police do have a possible suspect. a man in custody at this point. they are not saying much about who this person is. and the motive at least at this point according to the sergeant remains unclear. in addition, oakland police also investigating a second deadly shooting. another crime scene. two

is at the west oakland bart station where police unveiled their plan today. ken. >> reporter: yeah, elizabeth. it's pretty comprehensive. you can see the information inside the station. every passenger that gets off the train is being talked to by these volunteers by the oakland police department and by the bart police. what they are telling them is watch out. this is the time of the year when robberies occur. the biggest problem is people who are getting their cell phones ripped off and their computers ripped off while they are on the trains. there is a group of thieves going around and what they do is they sit on the train and when it pulls up to the station, they will wait until the doors open then grab your stuff, your backpack, whatever, right out of your hands and run out the door. it's been happening. people have been getting hurt, as well. we talked to one gentleman tonight ferdinand, who says he was attacked just a block from this bart station and almost lost his life. >> i was making a walk from my work to the bart station, it's two blocks, and i was ambushed by two men. they pointed a

in a span of just 90 minutes. there are two crime scenes. one in east oakland and one in west oakland. first let's go to the one around 1:00 a.m. where two people were shot to death. that happened near mead avenue. police have not released information on the victims or if there is a suspect in custody. around 2:30 this morning a woman was stabbed to death inside an apartment on walnut street. police do have a man in custody as a possible suspect in that case. but they are not commenting on his relationship to the victim. these three homicides push oakland's total this year to 130. there were 110 homicides in all of last year. ktvu alex savidge is fathering more-- is gathering more information. >>> they have hired a former last angeles police chief as a consultant. bill is created with reducing crime in l.a. and new york city. now he will be developing strategies to reduce the violence in oakland. earlier this month the city agreed to have a court appointed director oversee the police department to avoid a federal takeover. >> he will do whatever he needs to do to get a feel of oakland. obvio

homicides in oakland overnight. the first was a double shooting on the 800 block of mead ave in west oakland. that happened around 1 this morning. police are still on the scene investigating. at 230, a stabbing on the 5800 block of walnut street. >> this video was shot at 5:45 a.m.. i spoke with a witness and he stated that he looked out of his window and he sought to sets of vehicles pulled up. he stated that the car had four men inside. he stated that the four men walked up to two men were sitting in front of a house and then they fired a few rounds. they looked around just to evaluate the scene and then before they headed back to the car the witness stated that the two men on the ground were not even moving and then one of the men fired more shots into the victim as he was lying down on the ground. i guess he wanted to make sure that the two guys rs were really dead. >> he stated that it was a man in his early 20s and he was very popular in the area. we're still hoping to talk to investigators to find out what the possible motive may have been. the public information officers have just ar
